Ferrite pot magnets are designed to be fixed directly on a steel surface. They are made from an ordinary magnet encapsulated in a steel casing. A ferrite pot magnet has the magnetic field present only on one side, thus creating a greater power of attraction. They are not made to attract other magnets or to attract from a distance because they have a shallow depth of magnetic field.
Ferrite pot magnets have many advantages and can be made with a hole in the middle for various attachments. The magnet hole can be simple, threaded or buried for different types of mounting. The pot magnet can also be made with a hook and screw fastener, ideal for hanging a variety of items.
